Young Explorers investigate the natural world. Each week-long camp program is packed with fun experiments, individual projects and engaging science learning. Explore, discover and enjoy the "wow" of science in your own backyard. Send your camper with healthy snacks and water everyday.

Young Explorer Science Camp Dates / Themes for 2018
Week 2 June 25-29 Wetlands, the Biome Arcata Marsh Calls Home: Dig into wetlands and discover what makes Arcata's coastal marsh special. We'll also spend the week getting to know the aquatic and terrestrial inhabitants of the area.
Week 4 July 9-13 Birds of a Feather Travel Together: Campers soar into the world of birds that make seasonal and permanent homes at the Arcata Marsh. learn about shorebirds, birds of prey and many other species.
Week 6 July 23-27 Investigate Invertebrates of the Marsh: Campers get out your magnifying glasses and take a closer look at the local invertebrates. From Micro to Macro invertebrates, like insects and crustaceans, we will explore these marsh marvels.
Week 7 July 30-Aug 3 Wonderful Water: Water plays an important role in our daily lives. Discover the value that water has in balancing the bountiful ecosystem and the benefits provided to the natural world.
Week 9 August 13-17 There's a Herpetologist in Everyone: If reptiles and amphibians are your thing, then this is the camp for you! campers learn about frogs, salamanders, snakes and many more slimy and scaly creatures.

Combine Young Explorers Science Camp with a morning camp for a full day of fun.
Sorry, transportation is not provided to or from the Arcata Skate Park or Marsh.
Campers must be 5 to attend Redwood Day Camp.
