Arcata Ropes Course

Located in Redwood Park, the Arcata Ropes Course is a fun and challenging outdoor personal development and team building activity. It consists of both high and/or low elements. Low elements take place on the ground or only a few feet above the ground. High elements are constructed in redwood trees and require a belay and harness for safety. Any group or organization with trained staff and appropriate liability insurance can rent out the facility. For more information and to view pictures, visit the

Redwood Canopy Tours

Experience the beauty and power of the redwood canopy 70 feet up! This tour will take you into the canopy of Arcata's Redwood Park. You will begin on the ground learning terms and techniques needed to safely maneuver in the canopy. Next, you will ascend into the canopy where our trained facilitators will assist you as you climb, zip, and rappel through the trees. This is an experience like no other.
Tours last 2-3 hours.
Fees: $75 per person

Vocational Trainings

The City of Arcata Recreation Division partnered with North Coast Adventure Centers to provide an Outdoor Leadership Vocational Trainings. This partnership focused on building a community of skilled leaders, guides and facilitators for programs and tours locally and through out the world. The first Vocational Training Series trained/certified 159 people. 63 of our trainees reported job placement; that's 40% employed. Training opportunities include:
