Board & Task Force Vacancies & Applications

As board or task force members resign, fulfill their terms or are removed from office, board and task force vacancies are created which are filled by interested community members. The City Manager’s Office announces board and task force vacancies as these openings arise. Members whose terms expire will be contacted regarding interest in reappointment. Term expirations are specified in Arcata Municipal Code Title II, Chapter 3 (AMC II-3).

Appointments

The City Council interviews all qualified applicants. A majority vote of the Council is needed for appointment.

Qualifications

Unless otherwise expressly provided under specified sections for each commission and committee in AMC II-3, all boards, commissions and committees shall be comprised of seven members. No less than five members shall be residents of the City of Arcata and the remaining two must live or work in the Arcata Planning Area.
