Committee Vacancies & Applications
Interested community members are invited to apply for committee vacancies which occur as committee members resign, fulfill their terms or are removed from office. Committee members whose terms are due to expire are first contacted regarding interest in reappointment. Term expirations are specified in Arcata Municipal Code Title II, Chapter 3 (AMC II-3).

Appointments
The City Council interviews all qualified applicants. A majority vote of the Council is needed for appointment.
Qualifications
Unless otherwise expressly provided under specified sections for each commission and committee in Arcata Municipal Code II-3, all boards, commissions and committees shall be comprised of seven members. No less than five members shall be residents of the City of Arcata and the remaining two must live or work in the Arcata Planning Area.
