The Committee's primary function is to advise the Council and Commissions on matters relating to policies affecting the creeks, riparian areas, wetland and tideland resources of Arcata; to make recommendations on the management of vegetation, recreation, wildlife, fisheries, creeks and wetlands restoration and enhancement projects; to provide environmental review on projects that may involve or affect a creek, riparian area, wetland or tideland resource in Arcata; and to provide community outreach and education. The Wetlands and Creeks Committee’s powers and duties are outlined in Arcata Municipal Code Sections 2238 to 2241.
