City of Arcata offices will be closed on Monday, September 6, 2010, for Labor Day. Offices will re-open at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, September 7, 2010. Although offices are closed, emergency services are available by contacting the Arcata Police Department.

Arcata Ridge Trail Project
The City of Arcata has an opportunity to create a four-mile ridge trail from West End Road though the Arcata Community Forest, connecting to the Sunny Brae Forest and ending at Buttermilk Lane. The first of three fundraising events, Bat n' Rouge, will be held Friday, September 10, 2010, at 6:30 p.m. at the Arcata Ball Park. Family Adventures in Redwood Park - Day & Night
Due to the resounding success of the first-ever Family Adventure Day in Redwood Park, the Arcata Recreation Division will again host the popular family-oriented Arcata Ropes Course on the second Saturday of each month beginning September 11, 2010, or, expand the adventure with Night Canopy Tours with Glow Sticks on the third Saturdays beginning September 18, 2010.
