West Coast Governor's Agreement on Ocean Health.  On February 6, 2008, the City Council unanimously adopted Resolution No. 078-33 supporting the California, Oregon and Washington agreement endorsing the seven priority areas for ocean health.  With this action, the City of Arcata is the first West Coast City to formally adopt a resolution in support of this landmark agreement. Read More>

Arcata Marsh Interpretive Center Gets a New 3kW Solar Electric System.  On April 1, 2008, the City of Arcata celebrated "Fossil Fool Day" with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at the Arcata Marsh Interpretive Center, the new photovoltaic system will cover all electric usage at the facility and help the City avoid 2000 lbs of greenhouse gas emissions annually.
